Westminster Limited (NZBN: 9429050310319), trading as CourtMap ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate the CourtMap service and enable players to connect and arrange sessions.
To display your profile and requests to other users.
To facilitate session coordination between matched players.
To improve the service and diagnose technical issues.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

3. What Is Visible to Other Users

Always visible to signed-in users: Your display name, profile photo, skill level, gender (if provided), bio, session count, and endorsements.
Visible on requests: Your name, photo, skill level, gender, preferred days and times, play type, format preference, and any message you write.
Visible to a session partner only: Any contact information (e.g. email, phone number, WhatsApp handle) that you voluntarily enter into the contact-sharing field of a confirmed session. You are in full control of this — nothing is shared unless you type it in.
Never visible to other users: Your Google account email address, internal user ID, or any data not listed above.

4. Contact Information Sharing — Important Notice

CourtMap allows players who have confirmed a session to optionally share contact details with each other to arrange meeting logistics. This is entirely your choice. You decide what to share, if anything.

Once contact information has been exchanged between players, any communication that takes place outside CourtMap — by phone, email, messaging app, or in person — is outside CourtMap's control and responsibility. CourtMap does not monitor, store, or take responsibility for off-platform communications.

We encourage you to exercise caution when sharing personal contact details and to use the block and report features within the app if you experience any issues.

5. Third-Party Services

CourtMap uses the following third-party services to operate:

Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and hosting. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
Google Maps & Places API — club discovery and map display. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
Google Sign-In — account authentication. We receive only your name, email, and profile photo.

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in data centres compliant with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Access to user data is restricted to the authenticated user and the CourtMap service.

7. Data Retention

Partner requests expire automatically after 14 days or when you delete them.
Session connection records (proposals, confirmations, and any shared contact details) are retained while your account is active and may be deleted upon account deletion.
Your profile, endorsements, and session count are retained while your account is active.
You may request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see section 9).

8. Cookies & Local Storage

CourtMap does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage solely to remember your UI preferences (such as whether you have dismissed the install banner or a declined session card). Firebase may use limited technical cookies required for authentication and service operation.

9. Your Rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct any inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Withdraw consent for data processing (which will require account deletion).
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been breached.

10. Children's Privacy

CourtMap is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app. Continued use of CourtMap after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
