Welcome to CourtMap. By accessing or using CourtMap ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About the Service

CourtMap is an online platform that helps tennis players in Auckland, New Zealand find hitting partners and locate tennis clubs. The Service allows registered users to post requests, view club information, and communicate with other players.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use CourtMap. By signing in, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent before using the platform.

3. User Accounts

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Do not share your account credentials with others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. User Conduct

By using CourtMap you agree to:

• Provide accurate and honest information about your skill level and availability.
• Treat all users with respect and courtesy regardless of skill level, age, or background.
• Not harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
• Not post spam, commercial solicitations, or false requests.
• Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Honour commitments you make to other players, or cancel in reasonable time.

5. Safety

CourtMap is a platform to connect players — it does not supervise, verify, or endorse any individual user. You are solely responsible for your own safety when meeting other players. We recommend:

• Meeting for a first session at the tennis club in a public setting.
• Trusting your instincts — if something feels wrong, do not proceed.
• Not sharing personal information (home address, financial details) with other users.

CourtMap is not responsible for the conduct of users on or off the platform.

6. Contact Information & Privacy

You choose what contact information, if any, is shared with other users. Email or phone details are only revealed when you explicitly enable this in your profile settings. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

7. Partner Requests

Requests to play are visible to all CourtMap users and expire automatically after 14 days. You may delete your own requests at any time from your profile. Requests must represent genuine intent to play — do not post requests on behalf of others or as a form of harassment.

8. Messaging

CourtMap provides an in-app messaging feature to allow players to arrange games. By using this feature you agree to:

• Use messages only to arrange or discuss tennis — not for spam, advertising, or unsolicited contact.
• Not send harassing, threatening, offensive, or discriminatory messages.
• Not share another user's personal information without their consent.

Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. We may review messages in response to a report of abuse. You can block any user at any time using the block feature. To request deletion of your message history, contact us at hello@courtmap.nz.

9. Club Information

Club details shown on CourtMap are sourced from the Google Places API and provided for informational purposes only. We make reasonable efforts to keep this information accurate but cannot guarantee its currency. Always verify directly with the club before visiting.

10. Intellectual Property

The CourtMap name, logo, and design are the property of CourtMap. User-generated content (bios, messages, reviews) remains the property of the user, but you grant CourtMap a non-exclusive licence to display this content within the Service.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, CourtMap is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including personal injury, property damage, or disputes between users.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes via the app.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
